Tuesday Sewing Collective now has Knitting Teacher

Tonight, Tuesday June 7th 8:00pm-10:00pm

I am quite new, both on the Crown Heights board and in the neighborhood, so forgive me if I'm sharing something you already know. Every other Tuesday at Launchpad there is a sewing collective at Launchpad. A friend of mine has been attending and will soon be taking over leadership of this group. As a crafty person she has asked me to join her in this.

Apparently attendance has been dropping off lately which strikes me as a real shame. Where else are you going to get the chance to use sewing machines for free? There is also a fair bit of donated fabric.

And now, to sweeten the deal, we're knocking down the crafting barriers and I will be there to help teach knitting and/or crocheting. I generally teach kids, so anyone can do it. Heck, throw a craft at me and I'll see if we can't figure it out together if I haven't done it already.

I'm new in this immediate area (I previously lived in PH for 8 years, so it's not that foreign) and would love to get to know some of you locals and this is a great opportunity. So please feel free to just stop by if you get a chance and we can chat about knitting or sewing, or how to even use the machines.

I saw this too late! Are you doing the lessons every week? I keep saying (every Tuesday afternoon) that I am going to go sew, and then things come up and I don't. But I DO want to learn to knit -- this would be awesome!

I have good news for you, I got the date wrong due to a series of miscommunication, and it will actually be Next Tuesday, June 14th and then the next one will be two weeks after that. So it's not every week, but you didn't miss out either.
