Platform bed frame?

Any suggestions on where to get a platform bed frame for a full mattress that is very sturdy for under $300? Thanks!

  • Oy. I had a futon frame that was solid pine for ten years before it started to emit LOUD noises during my, ahem, guest time. So I got a platform bed from Overstock for 240. Long story short- the first two beds/parts of beds they sent were crap: particle board slats that had knots and snapped after one knee, and side rails that were one quarter inch solid wood and many other layers of thin boards glued together poorly that split apart. Finally the third time they sent me a better quality bed with solid pine polished slats and better constructed side boards, but the center leg supports continue to give us problems during, ahem, well, every night basically.

So, if you want to sleep on a platform bed, cheap ones can be found on the internet or at Ikea, but if you plan on doing anything other than sleeping, I recommend seeing the thing in person, not doing a platform unless it has awesome (and therefore expensive) construction, or altering your non sleeping experiences away from the bedroom.

Pm me if you want the make of the craptastic bed I bought.
