David's Laundry in N. Slope closing. Alternatives?

After moving to Bergen St over a year ago from the center slope I was sad to discover that David's laundry on 5th ave is closing after 41 years due to a rent hike by a new landlord.

As this was the only place near 5th and Bergen that would wash and press (not dry clean) my shirts without mangling the collars, I'm looking for options.

When I spoke to the woman at David's she said there were looking for a new location, but was not optimistic that she would find something affordable. I shudder to think what will replace them. Another nail salon?

I know there are a few places for rent on 5th in that area. They might find something. However, rents are not cheap. Additionally, not every space is suited for a laundry.

I believe the nearest one to you is in center slope (5th and 3ed st)
