Bill Batson, Candidate for 57th Assembly District wrote: If the city won't protect our neighborhoods, we will.

According to the high school description of New York politics, the Assembly representative for the 57th AD can stop the Ratner project. The Assembly supposedly defers to the opinions of the local representative.

There's a lot more to Bill Batson than his opposition to the Atlantic Yards process, and no matter what you feel about the project, this is an extremely interesting race. Our current representative, Roger Green, is not up for reelection, since he is running for Congress in the 10th district, which basically does not include Prospect Heights. You can check out his website at www.BatsonForBrooklyn.com which includes a map of the district.

So this election offers a very rare chance: a competitive election. And it only takes a few thousand votes to win a district this size.

And I'm offering a chance for y'all to check out my apartment. So I guess that means I'd better get to cleaning it.....

Hey, I've got to keep my bachelorhood intact until by girlfriend moves in, so it'll just be wine, beer, iced tea, eau de vie, coconut water, pernod, a couple o' cheeses, unicum and framboise. And Ak Mak.

But I don't want to give too many incentives to this crowd. That's asking for trouble.
