Question Re: pregnancy — Brooklynian

Question Re: pregnancy

I have noticed that there are lots of pregnant women in NYC at the moment.

Is this actually true, or am I just noticing their pregnancies more as result of women not wearing coats?

  • It was indeed a very cold winter. The effects of which are showing now.

  • Many of these women I keep seeing appear ready to give birth today.

    Was October cold?

  • It was practically Antarctica. All I see are bumps ready for delivery in August& September.

  • I must say, I did like the tactic of the woman I saw on the subway.

She was standing. I was standing. Train was crowded. She tried to make eye contact with a guy sitting to give up his seat. He avoided eye contact. She basically stood over him and shoved her bump in his face.

He got up, embarrassed. She sat in his former seat.

  • So many pregnant ladies. It also seems like half the time I turn on the TV someone there is pregnant too. Will this turn out to be a strange 2nd Baby Boom? Or just perhaps in Brooklyn? I'm glad it's not just me noticing though.

  • I noticed this too. Everywhere I look, women are pregnant. It was a cold winter. :santa:

  • british scientists have found

that winter coats worn by lab rats

    promote pregnancy

  • Among rats or Brits?

  • Karl-

That research confirms what I already suspected about the British.

But not all of the pregnant women are British. Questions remain.

Not likely. While a lot of people may be having babies, I don't think that there's as much of a widespread desire to have a big family. At least I hope that that's the case.
