Serious rat problems — Brooklynian

Serious rat problems

This post from Steven Horowitz on the Boerum Hill Yahoo! Group was circulated to local media recently:
As of last night, it looks like the rats are back on Pacific between flatbush and 4th. They were coming out of the construction site on one side and the empty building on the other side.

I called 311 again and filed another report to try to get them to do something, but I'm beginning to get the sense that this isn't going away.

Meanwhile, I've gotten emails and comments from a number of people to the effect that they have never seen the rat problem this bad before. It sounds like it's also really bad on Pacific between 3rd & 4th and also between 3rd & Nevins.

Does anyone have any contacts with any media that we might be able to get to do a story on "The Worsening Rat Problem" in order to attract a little more attention and put a little more pressure on the city to do something?

If not, can anyone lend me a slingshot so I can sit out at night and pick off the little critters myself? They just sit there when I shine my flashlight on them now, so perhaps that's the best way to get them. (I'm joking, but only half joking.)

Steven

bigger rats would pretty easily dispatch with most cats
