Filthy block party.

Actually, mods do see each post's IP address, and whoever the troll is, s/he does seem to be using IP spoofing techniques... a variety of IP addresses are used... one or more for each screen name.

Um, puppy, do you know several of the people on this silly message board actually hold seats on community board 8, attended the event, and have accurate information about it?
They'll be the ones snickering at you.
You may want to start your revolution on a more friendly battlefield.

A better job could have been done with the refuse. Simply put it could have been carted away or placed in a rented mini-dumpster....PERIOD!
I'm sure 99% of people on this board agree with you on that. I think the issue is with the 4,000 additional words you had to include in your tempest of postings.
One question: Did you do pick up any of the garbage? Did you lead by example, did you take the high road, did you speak to anyone involved with the block party?
You didn't. You mutter under your breath and shuffled past... Then you came here and complained to no end.
NICE WORK!!!

DR-
don't fall for the silliness.I doubt the puppy even attended. He instead posts that there was litter left behind to try to get people excited, but it has no effect because so many people were there and saw the event for themselves.
(I guess everyone needs a hobby)

Hmmm, I have noticed that "Dear Downward..." never offered any specific helpful advice, but merely vague rants. I hope that s/he feels better now and moves on to other lists. the Purpose of this list is not theraputic (or purgative).

Yes, if he attended, he could name specific details about the event.
He would also know that his statement:
downwardpuppy wrote: Merely sweeping refuse under cars is not cleaning up after oneself.
makes me laugh, because cars weren't on the block.
For example, what was the lead organizer doing throughout the day, and during clean up?
(those who attended, please don't give the answer away)
Let's enjoy watching the puppy guess...

Just goes to show how educated you are. The Precinct is the entity that issues block closure permits. If you ever bothered to attend any of the community boards you will understand that the commanding policeman there takes everything said by the community into account. I will be giving them a earful and when all is said and done they will have no choice but to enforce the rules to the letter. Perhaps now is a good time to start saving for the rental of that mini dumpster.

NO I DID NOT! you know why? I am not running the event. Frankly it is not my job to do what they are suppose to do. I just love how I am the guilty party for not doing their job. The mindset of some of the posters on this forum is incredible.

WHAT? Are you selectively blind? So the mini dumpster idea is not a solution? WOW!

Puppy!!!! Don't let them get the best of you... Use ur words little dog.

Afterall, you'll need details to be taken seriously both here and at the community board mtg.
You, after all, claim to have been there and witnessed the event....
You can do it!
....I'll even be generous and give out partial credit if its due.

I hope you all will be in attendance at the precinct community board(held on a Tuesday). At least my actions will assure that you get your act together. If I have any say in the matter I would not hand out any permits unless you leave a down payment for a mini dumpster. WOW, that is a great idea. Show a receipt of a mini dumpster rental before you get your permit. Dumping on the community is a sad things. Be the shining light and lead by example. TAKE YOUR REFUSE WITH YOU!
-
puppy, you sound like Sarah Palin when she is asked a question
You can do better.
Just answer the question....

I'll be there.. wearing this:

TAKE YOUR REFUSE WITH YOU!Hate to break it to you, but the precinct that covers this area does not hold its meetings on Tuesdays. But by all means, please attend some other precinct's meetings and ask the police to require private sanitation be required before permits are issued for street closures. I bet that would go over well in Park Slope.
Yesterday there was a block closure for some sort of block festival. It was nice and lots of people were in attendance. The children seemed to revel in the limited rides and the adults were all cordial. It was a wonderful event up until it ended.
Do you even know what event you attended? The lack of specificity makes me wonder...

with all due respect, "please shhhh".I know it is easy to point out to puppy the various ways in which he is full of it, but I am still waiting for him to address MY FAVORITE way in which he is full of it, by attempting to answer my question.
I am sorry to be selfish and insist on going first, but my question is soooo easy.

puppy you skipped most of the science you claimed to know. rat dander? Roach feces and eggs? bedbugs? They all need food and moister. Bed bugs need blood period. You are correct chicken bones do decay, at your rate any discarded have a life of a few years before you think they are unsightly.
I hope the organizers of local events do not need your same version of critical mass, I hope they don't delay or cancel their event because they are shy the few 1000 for same day trash removal when an extra 30 minutes will allow the existing sanitation crew to dispose of the party excess.
There are many kids that didn't see the rides as you described "limited". I hope your every water slide is longer and your jumparoo bouncier than any in CH. Make sure in your next years post you know what the streets look like before and after and your reactions may not be as dismissive
-
Always remember be respectful of the residents of the area when you choose to hold a street fair. Always pick up after yourselves and take your bulk refuse with you.
Thanks.I hope the organizers of local events do not need your same version of critical mass, I hope they don't delay or cancel their event because they are shy the few 1000 for same day trash removal when an extra 30 minutes will allow the existing sanitation crew to dispose of the party excess.
Ooops...there we go again speaking without having any semblance of what the topic is all about. Dearest Cat, the NYC Sanitation trash pick up for that block is not scheduled for a late evening pickup or even on a Saturday. Once more you speak without doing any research. What is even funnier is that you assume the NYC Sanitation Dept cleans up after every block party or closure when in fact a simple looksie at the guidelines of a block closure permit will reveal that it is the duty of the event holders to clean after themselves and dispose of the trash properly and not leave the huge large bags slumped to and fro on the sidewalk.
What is more amazing is that some of you actually believe I don't know what I am talking about or i am lying about what I saw. Notice how no one denies leaving the large bags of trash behind to plague the neighborhood. All I am doing is pointing out a valid point and some of you are intent on killing the messenger.
Thanks for the love. -
You know what... I've really come around here. DP is spot on - people are, for the most part, disgusting pigs who don't pick up after themselves. I have no doubt that the he saw what he says he saw: people acting like animals.
Now as for "killing the messenger"... we'll... in this case the messenger is acting like a douchebag and any "killing" is justified.
Please lock this thread... The Jesus of Brooklynian has spoken

I don't understand why people need to resort to profanity laced name calling in order to prove some sort of point. It is as though they think the naughty words will make their statement more viable.
The only douchebag around here is you and since you are acting like an animal straight out of the jungles of the Amazon or the Congo then yes I agree this thread should be closed and locked before anymore supposedly civilized people de-evolve right before my eyes.
