Who's a good acupuncturist?
Looking for one in the Slope or Williamsburg to treat a weird, lifelong skin condition that's similar to psoriasis or eczema, but apparently isn't. It acts up the worst in the heat, becoming all rough, red, and itchy, but is confined to one forearm/hand. Wearing a watch exacerbates it.
It seemed like a good way to go since my brother, who is a huge cynic, had great success eliminating his allergies using an acupuncturist--but not here, so his person is not an option. Certainly years of creams and ointments haven't worked.
I see there a bunch of recommendations already (Dr. Iozzio and BCOM), but they're kind of old posts, so I thought I'd see if anyone can confirm that those are still here and good choices, or maybe offer new suggestions. Thanks!

Have you tried using 1% cortisone cream? I occasionally have a similar condition on my fingers and where my watch sits, and the cortisone cream always clears it up.

I highly recommend the Brooklyn Acupuncture project. 718-369-0123, brooklynacupunctureproject.com
They have a sliding scale. They are located on 3rd Ave near 12 St in Bklyn. near the R train.
You can also check communityacupuncturenetwork.org for more affordable practitioners in other areas. -
I really like Geleni Fontaine http://geleniacupuncture.webs.com/
Affordable and will work with different budgets. She's on 8th street.

She is on 8th Street in Brooklyn? Do you know her exact location? It doesn't have an address that I could find on her blog. Thanks

Will definitely check all these people out. And I forgot to mention affordable helps, too, so these are great! Thanks very much, everyone.
There's cortisone in the current greasy prescription stuff, which helps somewhat, but it would be nice to see if someone can clear it up altogether. It's pretty gross.

Sally Rappaport! She is on Union Street, near 8th Ave. Phone 718-398-5284. I've seen her off and on for about 4 years. She's helped me with pain management, sinus pressure, locked shoulder, etc. She's GRRRrrrreat!

I like Geleni too, as does the friend I sent that way who's having a more extensive issue than me. Also at Third Root some days, another awesome sliding scale establishment, but over by the Courtelyou Rd Q train.
