Looking for a room (or studio)! $800-1200

I'm on the hunt for an apartment, preferably in the Park Slope area (or really any other safe Brooklyn area). I'm 26, non-smoker, work in Astoria by day, musician at night in Manhattan, laid back, and a vegetarian (although not averse to living with meat eaters). I have a very friendly non-barking dog who would be with me on the weekends (i.e. when I'm not working), so he wouldn't get in your way!

Looking to move ASAP, so let me know if you have anything! My price range is around 800 a month but I'm willing to go higher for a nicer place.

Anyone, anyone? Is my best bet to find a non-broker apartment on Craigslist? Or are there other place to look for Park Slope rents?
