NU Hotel Brooklyn manages to encapsulate that old school Brooklyn community vibe of having exquisite international cuisine, one of a kind boutiques shops and world famous entertainment within a stone’s throw of where you rest your head comfortably at night.
Jamel Shabazz is a Brooklyn-born photographer who has been documenting the “Urban Life” for over 30 years, while having three seminal books to his credit, including “Back in the Days” and “A Time Before Crack.”
The Odd Partners (TOP) formed in Brooklyn during the mid-1970s, quickly establishing themselves as one of the most prolific bombing crews in NYC writing. Founding member James Top currently produces the cable television show Graffiti NYC and is best known for his iconic Afro pieces which make acute observations on the world of entertainment, social issues, politics and the African-American experience. Duro has been writing since the 1970s and his work is featured in numerous graffiti books, most notably “Subway Art” and “Hip Hop Files.” Duro also appears in the classic graffiti film Style Wars and was part of the Whitney Museum’s “The American Century” exhibition. Archer started writing in 1983 in the L.E.S. and joined TOP in the early 2000s. His current artwork is highly influenced by NYC subway landscapes.
