  • It is still "opening soon"

  • wish it was opening sooner!

  • Hey Everyone you can come eat some slices

Glad you are all excited about our pizza. We are dealing with delays like everyone else but Brooklyn is not without pizza.

Tonight Monday October 17th from 7pm-10pm our friends at No. 7s have been nice enough to loan us their restaurant so we will be running a pop-up.

Come eat our Margherita and our Cold Fried Chicken pizzas

Tonight 7-10 at No. 7s at 7 Greene at Fulton

if you have not met us yet the whole PeteZaaz family will be around.

    Hope to see you there

  • When you know when you will open, please post here!

    Welcome to the neighborhood!

  • Awning is in place.

    Construction equipment no longer present.

Opening looks like it could happen at anytime.

  • they are waiting for the final on their gas meter. Everything else finished waiting for bureaucrat weenie at the utility to approve gas service

  • Opens Sunday.

P.S. Is it just me, or does that article and poll look a heck of a lot like this thread?

  • Hey Everyone

We are proud to say that we open this Sunday December 11th.

We were waiting on National Grid and finally got set up with gas on Wednesday.

We will be cooking all weekend to get everything ready and to cook for ourselves and our families but Sunday, $1 slices all day. The Website goes live on Saturday. Look for the menu. Pete Glen and the rest of the gang are very happy with what we've come up with and there will be specials to come. We hope you love it.

Thanks and hope to see you soon

  • I just came back from there. The food is good, but they are gonna need to work out some kinks. The menu is poorly place in the way front of the restaurant, but the register is in the middle, then you have to go up front again to wait, dodging people the whole time, where you get to watch the pizza preparers yelling at each other. It's all very confusing and amusing.

But the food is good, and the people are nice, and they were blasting classic rock out of an awesome looking boombox thing, connected to Pandora.

They should work on the flow of the place, but it's just the first day. I wish them well. And their General Tso's Tofu Pizza is to die for.

  • Thought I'd grab a slice or two for lunch, but "Will re-open Wednesday". :(

  • This place is really good. I have had the regular pie,Ruben Stromboli,Fried chicken pizza, and the Gen Tso's tofu pizza. All of them are really delicious. The knots they make are made with ricotta w some shallots and some Asian seasoning which is

    really enjoyable

  • Damn tasty pizza...thin, crispy crust and delicious sauce. Really cute place, too. 1/4 pies made to order if you don't have time for a whole 'za. Really great staff...I ordered then realized I'd left my wallet at home. They let me take the pie home and pay them later.

Between Pete'z and Ortine, the Washington strip suddenly has two great pizza options without slogging to Vanderbilt!

  • This place (and other nearby spots) are poised to absolutely thrive once the Court Officers Academy is opened right across the street.

  • As a huge fan of Pete's, I have to give this place another thumbs up. Food is amazing, the owners are deeply involved, and just really nice guys.

Does anyone have any idea when that is supposed to be? The construction there doesn't seem to be terribly brisk.

  • It was originally scheduled to be completed in April 2013.

However, based on this court officers forum, I suspect the Dormitory Authority and the contractor(s) are taking their time to complete the project as a result of not having the funds to for an incoming class.

They deliver through GrubHub now. And take credit cards. WIN!

  • Went today for lunch. Got a Brooklyn and baked potato slices.

The Brooklyn was nothing to write home about. Your standard margherita-type slice. I only got it for reference, and because only two pies are available by the slice each day. I wouldn't bother with this one again.

The baked potato slice is weird and delicious.

Nice place, friendly staff. Will definitely go back. Next time I will just get a whole pie. Also very curious about the kimchi roll.

  • How long did you have to wait for those slices? My husband went to pick up slices and was somewhat yelled at about how only gross pizza places have slices ready to go and that they make it when ordered and that it's against code to have slices out (only somewhat true) and so he left and got a torts at Chavelas for lunch.

  • It took a while -- ten minutes at least. As you said, they make everything to order.

Next time I will phone ahead.

  • i guess the guy is covering his a** on that one. I always get some heated up slice from them. They've never been out of slices. PPlus the flavors blend and taste better on a reheat slice. Its just like lasagna that tastes better the next day.
