Intructor: Amanda Miller, Ditmas Park Resident

Amanda has been improvising in one form or another since 1999 when she began competing in high school short form improv competitions. She earned her BFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts at the same time that she started studying long form improvisation at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Amanda formed her own long form troupe in college called Vorp’m Improv which performed around NYU and at The Chicago Improv Festival. Currently, she performs with Tom, Dick and Harry, an all-female long form group and Cherub Improv, a volunteer improv company that provides performances and workshops to underserved communities, such as hospitals, senior centers and cancer support organizations. She also performs with the interactive ensemble, Playing With Reality, which invites audience volunteers to become the protagonist of a story created on the spot, not for the purpose of comedy but rather to empower people through play. Amanda trained as a teaching artist with Community Word Project.
