NEW ORLEANS ALL FEMALE PARADING CLUB IS OPENING A CHAPTER IN NYC
Bearded Oysters New York City Halloween Parade Debut
For seven years, the merkin-working, most fabulous bearded belles have been spicing up an already outrageous Mardi Gras culture with their slick chick tricks. The 500 member club consists of women of all shapes, sizes, colors and ages to best create a network of diverse sisterhood. Behind the hula hooping, bubble blowing, radical dancing, ribbon twirling, strutting, bead tossing, clowning and street performing is the most unique feminist movement you could ever have the pleasure to witness.
The troupe is currently recruiting their inaugurate class of 40 fun loving ladies to bring this foolishly delightful feminism to the streets of NYC. The troupe encourages women with no experience as well as seasoned performers to join their army of female fabulousness. This is a great opportunity to have fun, meet other women, create art, feel beautiful and get in touch with everything that is totally fabulous about being a woman -- through parading! The parade debut will be on October 31st, 20ll and will lineup at 6th Avenue South of Spring Street and North of Canal between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m
The world is certainly their oyster. Bearded Oysters will be going national with chapters opening in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Austin in 2012. Members will be welcome to participate in parades across the country with no rehearsals and no RSVPs.
