  • Good Morning,

I tried something I found interesting last night. I went into the just released 1940 Census Records. It takes some work but I found my street & where we lived at the time (310-12th St). It is an apartment house. I was amazed at how many names were familiar to me in the apartment house and on the whole block. When we moved it was to a private home up the block a few houses to 320-12th St. I then found Carol's street & she was surprised how many she recognized even though she was not born yet in 1940. If you get a chance go into www.census.gov & click on the 1940 census. You will have to search some maps to find your "ED" and then you can bring up the records as listed. Even though most of you were not around in 1940 I think you will be surprised at how many neighbors names are familiar to you. People did not move around much back then especially if they bought a house. When I got to our records I saw my Mother, Father, my 2 brothers and myself listed. Carol was not on her house listing for obvious reasons but her Father, Mother, 2 sisters, a brother, Grandfather and 3 Uncles were. There is not a lot of personal info but race, age, & occupations are listed.

Carol is having a bit of a problem this AM but if she feels better we will go to the monthly Farmers Market here on our gated community grounds and then the Drug store to pick up the balance of one of her perscriptions that was not completed yesterday. :D-Y

  • Hey Anthony, During WW2 the pilots usd to paint a mark on the side of their planes after each mission showing how many Japs or Nazi planes they shot down. Have you painted anything on your scooter to indicate how many yuppies you hit???

Hope Terry has a safe trip down. Last I knew she and her beau drove straight through each way. Wait until they get a little older and they will make it with at least one stop over! I started with one stop over in Dillon S.C. Then after a few years in was on night in Emporia VA, and a second night in Georgia near Savannah. Next but not last my trips were on Auto Train both ways. Only a 1 1/2 hour drive on this end and a 5 hour drive on the Northen end. The last few trips were by plane...

    Maundy Thursday Services tonight. :-s

AL

  • Good Morning,

I want to wish our Jewish friends a wonderful Passover and may the blood of the Lamb always be over your door. To our Christian friends a Glorious Easter. He has risen! To the agnostics I do not not what to say except good health to you.

Carols appointment in USF department of Gastroenterology is Tuesday. It is a bit of a ride but if they can help her it will be worth it. The building is right near Moffitt Cancer Institute. We both went there for second opinions on our Cancer Treatments. That was several years ago so I hope the directions I got are good.

Anthony, your menu sounds fantastic. We are going to have a small Turkey Breast. It will be just the two of us. :D-Y

  • [b][i]Happy Easter to every one on this blog,

Worse trip ever. Everyone was traveling, took us longer than usual. We are exhausted and in pain and we will survive in this beautiful weather...

    Warren,

Next time I am flying...Can not take it anymore. It is too much on Mike because he does all the driving....Idiots on the road that don't know how to drive..

I hope I get to see Geri and Franny this time.

    FRED,

Hello and so happy to see you here. Miss you much. Hope all is well. Ask your son in law if he heard someone yell at the limo in brooklyn..ANTHONY,ANTHONY. It was my crazy Mike. LOL We were on our way to Greenwood and he was going the opposite way. He looked real quick but of course he does not know Nutty Mike. lol

I wish everyone a Healthy and Happy Easter and Passover. Love you all....
