Did you see the building collapse on Nostrand?
The facade came down early Sunday morning. It looked like the rain just soaked into the roof and the wood and eventually the weight was too much for the structure. DOB was out by 9am with the street roped off and they spent most of the day taking down the old scaffolding that was there and the exterior front wall.
The building is actually three connected brownstones that had street side extensions for stores. They've put up a new scaffold to keep all the debris pinned up, but it looks like there will be a big empty lot on Nostrand and Prospect in the next couple of months.
