hey mobile game addicts (angry birds etc.)

Does this sort of thing strike you as just another rehash of the same old annoying advertising thing, just with a new gimmic slapped on it so some founders (and VCs pumping it up) can cash in?

Or is it actually a good thing?

tl;dr:

Their tech serves special offers only after you've leveled up or beaten a boss or something major (instead of everywhere/always-present), without losing your place in the game. But it's still advertising.

Opinions welcome.
