The Neighborhood:

Ditmas Park is one of few officially designated historic districts in Brooklyn, minutes from Lower Manhattan. It is a very safe neighborhood mostly known for the beautiful Victorian Mansions south of Prospect Park. The neighborhood has great restaurant options like The Farm on Adderley, Purple Yam, and Castello Plan, nice cafes like Qathra or Madeleine or a few bars like Sycamore (flower shop + Bar). There are several supermarkets including 2 organic/natural food coops and a great farmer's market on Sundays. There is also an excellent Yoga studio 1 block away.

Prospect Park is only a 15 minute walk or 5 minutes by bike – great for biking, walking, running, picnics. 585 acres, Prospect Park includes a lake, a skating rink, and Tennis Courts, and is bordered by the Botanical Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum.

Transportation:

The apartment is located less than a 4 minute walk from the Q Train, 7 minute walk to the B Train and 15 minute walk to the F train. (The Q and B go express and take you to Union Square or Penn Station in half an hour). Trains run 24 hours.
