Affluent Cobble Hill gets Brownstone Brooklyn's first Charter School

this is not remotely brooklyn's first charter school. but it is brooklyn's first charter school to explicitly target affluent families after having applied for and received approval to locate in a different district and to focus on at-risk kids.

Also interesting to note that only 5% of parents polled in this district would consider sending their child to this school. There is obviously not a demand but the Dept of Ed clearly has another agenda. Also fascinating that the "Success Academy Cobble Hill" website has been up and running for days despite not being approved until last night. Suspicious? What's suspicious about a charter school chain that is run by hedge fund and private equity firms?

Sorry, did not mean to imply it was the first ever charter school. NYT describes it as the first charter school in "Brownstone Brooklyn."
