Soup place in space of Louie G's

I've tried three varieties of soup from the new place on Park Pl. near the Q stop: cream of potato, turkey chili, and potato and roasted garlic. All have been excellent! While the prices are a bit high for the area (IMO), I'm glad to have a new dinner option. The staff said they will be open until March, at which time the ice cream will return. Anyone else try it?

I've had the clam chowder (twice!) and the "chicken pot pie" (soup) once. Both were excellent. I think the prices are OK (not a bargain, but not outrageous either). The place is.a very nice addition to the 'hood.

had some lentil soup the other day (in the 'mini' size, only 3 bucks and came with a delicious piece of chewy sourdough) and it was really good.

Hopefully they'll have delivery in place soon.

I wouldn't count on delivery. The branch that is now in it's second season in Park Slope has never had and I was told at one point, will never have delivery. I do love their soups. I cook lots of soup myself but sometimes I just want one serving of a flavor or to try new flavors, which they have plenty of.

The Soup Bowl. The Park Slope one is on 7th Ave near 9th St. The one off Flatbush is near the B/Q entrance, I think on Park Place.

I love the idea, but the Park Pl / Flatbush location looks SO temporary and sketchy (like a soup kitchen) that it skeeves me a bit to think of how long the soups have been hanging around. Am I the only one?

Yeah, they change the flavors a lot and seem to run out of most by the end of the day. At least that's the norm at the Park Slope one and I notice that the menu at the Park Pl one seems to change just as much. I think both locations look pretty rough since they can't really change out the ice-cream freezers and equipment--hey really just putting a bunch of hot plates and pots in an ice-cream shop from the looks of it.

I tried the chicken vegetable last week while in the throes of a very bad headcold. I was sick and starving so ordered the large size. $10.88 for a large soup and two scraps of bread. Chicken vegetable, by the way, means zero rice or noodles, by the way. It tasted... fine, and was free of all the bone fragments and other weirdness that the soup from Gran Castillo has, but I just felt too ripped off! I felt like a fool for paying that much for something I could have made better at home. I would only go there again for a small size of something more exotic.

I tried the cream of chorizo tonight and loved it. It actually made me wish that I got sick more often.
