House on Putnam and Irving Makes the New York Times! — Brooklynian

House on Putnam and Irving Makes the New York Times!

Geez, $1.14 MILLION for a house in OUR end of the neighborhood? So it seems: now it's appearing in full color on the front page of the Times Real Estate Section in their "Sketch Pad" series. They got David Ling to imagine adding another million or so in a complete renovation.

It's next to the "junk yard" (as the Times refers to it, which is understandable but probably the owner thinks of it as a parking lot). The junk yard, the totally plain 3 story house, and our neighbor's wrecked car of a few days ago that was still on the street then, are described by Manhattan architecht David Ling as "exciting." I guess it's nice to see that our roses are considered worth framing in his plan for the side windows.
