Ft. Greene gangs from 1955-1959

Hello Everyone,

I am writing a book on New York City gangs from 1955-1959 and research has uncovered the fighting teenage gangs from Ft.Greene. Apparently Ft.Greene was a rough area in the 50's.

Gangs I have come across are the Sand Street Angels, Mau Maus, Chaplains, Rovers, Apaches, Silver Arrows, Cobras etc.

If anyone knows any info on these gangs or other Ft.Greene gangs or lived in the neighborhood during this time I would like to hear from you.
