saw a grey pit with no owner in prospect park

A small grey and white pitbull was running around the north side of the Long Meadow in PPK tonight, around 9:30 pm. He/she had a collar but no tags. And no owner ever appeared. Seemed friendly but played kind of aggressively, so I skedaddled my puppy out of there (when I got home, saw that she had in fact been bitten, but nothing too serious). A bunch of other people with dogs were there, too. Did anyone else see this dog? Did an owner ever show up?

  • I suspect this pitbull saw the article about Ghost dog being captured, and is trying to fill his role.

I am not impressed with this applicant, and think we should interview additional candidates.

  • on a more serious note - go around the park again around the same time as wild dogs have routines and look for the dog and ask your neighbors if they have seen it too. If you can get a confirmed 2nd sighting call a rescue like Sean Casey or BARC who has experience catching dogs. If you can the AC&C doggie will likely die as they dont make much effort to do anything there and if they find out the doggie bit your dog will certainly die.
