Back 9 Grill has finally opened on Vanderbilt—and it's pretty nice

Ok it's got a golf theme, but it's painstakingly decorated by the golf-loving owners and it's actually quite a nice space with an interesting menu that includes such offerings as tuna tartar tacos and grilled asparagus as a side dish

Thanks for the review. It's nice to read feedback from someone who reserved judgment until actually trying it out...unlike some on this board, who were trashing the place before it even opened.

To clarify, I haven't tried the food, but the menu looks interesting and I really liked the feel of the place. -Amy

A little disappointed.

I thought it was going to be more of a bar (not that we need another) but it turns out it has a very similar feel to his other place (Maya, right next door). The grill is right behind the "bar"; I didn't see any beer taps. There are a few small tables on the side/back.

I must say the food choices look good and decently priced so I will definitely try it for take out.

We ate there earlier tonight (before the storm hit) and it was good! As a bonus they even cooked the Buffalo wings extra crispy and they won the approval of my Buffalo born husband!
