Bay Ridge Toyota Facebook ‘likes’ to help Bay Ridge Seniors get around

Bay Ridge Toyota is hoping you’ll ‘like’ to help the Bay Ridge Senior Center replace their wheelchair-accessible van. Recently totaled in an accident, this van was often the main means of transport for our seniors to and from the senior center, medical appointments, food shopping, social visits and activities.

To offset the cost of the vehicle, Bay Ridge Toyota is matching donations made through a secure Fundrazr app on their Facebook page up to $15,000, now through September 30, 2012.

“The Bay Ridge Senior Center has been supporting our elderly for years. We’d like to help support them. They need a new van now because the 18-seat bus they’re substituting is so costly to operate they’ve had to limit use. We’re looking to offset the Center’s financial burden," expressed Mike Ianelli, Bay Ridge Toyota GM.

Bay Ridge Senior Center’s mission is to improve the quality of life for Brooklyn’s senior population by providing services and programs that promote well-being, support independence and encourage community involvement.
