Deadly shooting-Kingston and Dean

Looks like Kingston Ave is heating up. Another shooting early this morning took the life of a 26night year old man.

  • On Saturday, August 11, 2012 at approximately 0205hrs, police officers responded to 1458 Dean Street within the confines of the 77th Precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a M/B/26 was shot in the chest. EMS responded and pronounced the victim DOA.  There are no arrests at this time and investigation is ongoing.

    Quite a lot a shootings in CH east of New York Avenue.

    ....not as many as -say- before 2006, but still a lot of shooting and killing.

    BTW, please thank the Detective that did the work that resulted in this arrest:

    On June 21, 2011, a 17-year-old named Darrell Smith was stabbed to death at 1785 Pacific Street; Details here.  Police later identified Orpheus Nelson as a suspect.

    On Friday August 3rd, 2012 pursuant to a continued investigation the following individual has been arrested and charged with 2nd degree Murder and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
