Best car service to pick up foreign visitor
none of the threads really touch on this, so I'm making it a new thread.
I have a friend coming in from the UK for her first trip to the USA. she's arriving at JFK and staying with me. a yellow cab is really a lousy option - she's going to be wiped out and if the yellow can't figure out a mapquest map, it's going to be bad. so I want to send a car service to wait for her and pick her up - one that will, of course, check on her flight status, and, of course, hold up a sign with her name on it. is there one in the area (PH, PS, wherever in brooklyn, or brooklyn friendly/knowledgable)?
thanks very much! (sorry, this is a new one for me - a fearful foreigner!)

How much are you willing to pay? I know a reliable outfit, but they might cost a fortune.

Legends is the only one I can think of. They will cost you though.

Yeah they picked us up at La Guardia on July 4th, coming back from Houston - ran us around $60 by the time you'd factored in the $5 for the car seat for Little Mister and waiting time (the flight was about a half hour late). -

I don't know what a car service would charge but I just took a cab home from JFK on Sunday. The total was $38 including tip. The route: JFK -> North Conduit -> Atlantic Ave -> Eastern Pky -> Classon -> Lincoln. Seems like the quickest route. Of course they won't hold up a sign for you or check your flight status but they're always waiting at the taxi stand.

um, if the limo pickup option is too expensive, can you maybe zipcar it? get some cool ride, like a mini or something...and make a sign with your friend's name on it....homemade and personal.
