Where can I find soy- free products?
I'm trying to keep my soy intake to a minimum but it seems like there's some version of soy in EVERYTHING.
Stores are starting to have gluten free products, so I'm wondering if there are places that have a soy free section. Anyone have any info? I'm not limiting my search to Park Slope so if you know of stores in any other area please let me know.
Thanks.

Why would you keep soy intake to a minimum?

Two reasons I've heard, but I don't know much more then that:
1. Most soy products in the US are GMO (genetically modified) and
2. People with a predisposition to estrogen receptive cancers should avoid it due to it's 'estrogen-like' properties. But the latter is unproven: http://www.cancer.med.umich.edu/support/nutsoy.shtml
(and of course, there are people who are allergic to soy.)

Some people also believe that due to it's estrogen-like properties one should be particularly careful feeding it to growing boys. There can also be dairy and soy intolerance in babies that they often outgrow. But if a mother is nursing she would have to avoid all of both, including soy.

The estrogen reason.
Anyone know where I can look?

My favorite non-soy non-dairy product is So Delicious "ice cream". But I really don't have any suggestions. Sorry.

I don't know of any ONE place that carries a lot of soy free products but you can find many options at Whole Foods.
Also a good reason to go soy free is your body does not absorb many of the nutrients in soy unless it is fermented soy such as tofu. So you think you are being healthy but you are not. It is also a common allergen.
