Calling all teens and tween rockstars! Does your child play guitar, and want to learn how to write pop/folk/rock songs?

There's a refreshing and unique teen songwriting workshop right by the B/Q 7th Ave stop and the B41 bus.

The 8 week workshop, beginning on January 8, gives teens ages 11-17 the opporitunity to write at least two original songs, record an in-studio demo, and perform at a famous NYC music club, all alongside professional musicians.

Each week features different songwriting themes about memorable melodies, catchy hooks, the form of a song, and how to record your own demo. Whether your teen is starting from scratch or has written a bunch of tunes, this workshop will provide a deeper understanding of melody, harmony, rhythm, and lyricism while cultivating confidence and stage presence.

Tuesday sessions begin January 8, 2013 and Wednesday sessions begin January 9, 2013. The workshop will be held at Complete Music Studios at 227 St Marks Ave between Vanderbilt and Underhill Aves in Prospect Heights.

Class size is limited and it is recommended that teens have a basic knowledge of guitar or piano before registering.

The eight week workshop will be offered at the discounted price of $350 through December 15.
