Featuring Grammy Award winning violinist Sara Parkins, violinist Sarah Thornblade, associate principal second violin of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, sought after violist Alma Lisa Fernandez and versatile, seasoned cellist Maggie Parkins, Eclipse Quartet are a unique group dedicated to 20th century and present day composers. They boast a dynamic and bold repertoire that features standard new music, micro-tones, subtones, electronic and improvised pieces, they are intrepid, unafraid, and unquestionably talented. Eclipse were recently awarded a grant from the Copland Foundation to record three works for string quartet and percussion by American composers Frederic Rzewski, Zeena Parkins and James Tenney for the New World label collaborating and recording with percussionist William Winant. The recording will be made in Littlefield Hall at Mills College, produced by Jeff Gauthier, violinist and founder of Cryptogramophone records.

Eclipse’s Kickstarter campaign will raise the rest of the funds needed to complete this unique recording. This project is essential in presenting and preserving the music of living composers and rarely heard music of the 20th century and is truly a worthwhile investment in the future of music. All donations are tax deductible!
