Jake's Barber Shop @ Washington Bergen Closing?

Looks like another retail change coming on the east side of Washington Ave: Jake's Barber Shop - which has been more of a "beauty supply store" than a barber shop for as long as we've been around - has had a "liquidation sale" sign up for a week or two.

This morning they're moving merch out in a u-haul.

Wondering if there's something new in the works, or this is just a case of the store's traffic not paying the rent?

I have no inside info on that, but do know that a barbershop recently opened at 693 Washington, across from NSA Supermarket.

This leads me to believe that some new proprieters believe Washington is a good place to cut hair.

I just got a haircut there. It's called Jose's. Guy used to work at Mingo's down the block. Got a nice, tight cut for $15. Very pleased.
