This project was recently allocated some capital money from the city council via Laurie Cumbo, but construction does not appeared to have resumed.
It appears stuck. No work permits appear to be open.
They are now more than 1 year behind the time line they presented to me last summer.

Greetings-I've been watching the Dean St project for a while. Is it still progressing? Is it becoming something called "Intermission"?ThanksDear (whynot)-The project has been delayed indefinitely. Intermission is not connected with Global Square.Warmly, gsquare

Yeah, I won't call the neighborhood transformation quite complete until that block (and its counterpart on Pacific Street) are "fixed." A lot of potential, but the current zoning status seems to have delayed progress.

If DeBlasio gets a second term, the M1 Zone will likely become an inclusionary housing area. However, that remains to be seen...

Meanwhile, I assume/hope that the principal behind Global Square (Charles M McMickens) has had to pay back the money he received from city government to help develop the space.
The space seems to have had several hundred thousands of dollars spent on renovations; all of which seems destined to be demolished unless a deep pocketed performance operator can be found.

Despite investing lots of $ into a space that named came to fruition, this artist/owner may have made a killing.
In 2012, these lots were offered for $3.5M and are now seeking a buyer at $7.2M

Now includes verbiage about being a motivated seller.
