Brooklyn Pita
Probably old news for this on-the-ball foody crowd, but I stopped by Brooklyn Pita (7th Ave. near 8th st.)for a hummus, and found it watery and tasteless where it used to be thick and tasty just a couple of months ago. The pita was thin and not so tasty as usual. Turns out the serious, enthusiastic Israeli owner is out of the picture. What a loss! It was never exactly Abu Hassan, but good enough for repeat visits and only a block from my house.
