Video Assist Operator Philippe Labeau has worked on all sizes of shoots and with directors like Michael Bay and Spike Lee. Philippe will be demonstrating how video assist equipment like the Qtakehd (www.qtakehd.com ) and the Pix240i (www.sounddevices.com/products/pix240i/ ) work, and explain the key role he plays in production. Philippe will also talk about the nature and process of working in commercials, and give history on how it has evolved over the years, with special mention of Elbert Budin, the grandfather of “tabletop” (beauty close-ups on food products http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/movies/2011/10/tabletop.html ).
