Interesting Series on PLG History

Brownstoner's "Montrose Morris" has just concluded a really interesting four part series on early PLG history, about Melrose Hall, the home of the traitorous Axtell family, during the American Revolution and (most interesting to me) the story of Melrose Park--the Prospect Park South-type 1880s real estate development that existed between Winthrop Street and Clarkson Avenue, off of Bedford.

Well worth the read IMO:
