. . . in 1936 and still have the birth certificate. I will look it up and tell you what it looks like. As I recall, it was just a small hospital certificate devoid of f information about parents, etc. Sometime later on I may have applied to the City of New York and may have obtained a detailed one. . . I will let you know if that is correct.

Let me echo whynot_31 in thanking you for posting this! I think all Crown Heights folks will be (or should) be interested in hearing anything you have to say about the area in your youth, and, if you're a current resident, what your thoughts are on the changing nature of much of the neighborhood.
