Celebrity photo that may sway the election: Johnny the UPS guy with Ede

There is one hero that Prospect Heights residents can agree on: Johnny the UPS guy. I hope everyone here knows that I have a huge supporter of Ede Fox for City Council. Now I have gotten the celebrity photo that will sway the election for Ede: She posed with Johnny.

Oh, Ede also got the endorsement of several Prospect Heights institutions like Chris Owens, Prospect Heights Democrats for Reform, Rohan of Nok Auto Repair, Chris Nation of the hardware store on our side of Flatbush, Mery of Healthy Nibbles, and a bunch of other local business leaders (see https://friendsofedefox.nationbuilder.com/support_our_small_businesses). She also got the endorsements of people outside our neighborhood, including a newspaper called the NY Times.

For info about Ede, please visit the office at 732 Washington Avenue (between Prospect & Park) or EdeFox.com. We could use an army of volunteers this weekend.

Here's a link to the photo:

  • I never decide who to vote for until I know who Federal Express is endorsing.

  • As someone with a landline, I've been inundated with calls.

I don't vote for anyone who calls me during something I enjoy.

I think Ede has tied down the FedEx vote:

  • Here are the results for the 35th District with 100% counted:

    Cumbo: 6,836 (35%)

    Fox: 5,011 (26%)

    Alabi: 4,992 (26%)

    Mashariki: 1,254 (7%)

    Hurley: 1,192 (6%)

At PS9, I counted 6 of the 7 precincts and this is how my poll site voted:

    Ede Fox: 803 (56%)

    Cumbo: 369 (26%)

    Alabi: 165 (12%)

    Mashariki: 52 (4%)

    Hurley: 45 (3%)

My rough guess is that Laurie and her independent backers spent about $460,000 on the race versus about $160,000 for Ede. So Laurie and her independent backers spent about $67 per vote, while Ede spent about $32. Roughly!
