Chicago-born Raul Pacheco spent his young adulthood in Miami Beach, where he was profoundly influenced by the city's visual and aural energy. He creates both intimate and large-scale acrylic non-figurative paintings on canvas and birch panel that explore the interplay of texture, color, shape and field. His paintings are noted for their dynamism and poise. He also creates drawings on paper that distill, perhaps, the richness of his paintings into elegant and essential structures. He resides in Prospect Lefferts Gardens, where he is an active member of PLGArts and numerous other community-building organizations.
