Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood invites friends to celebrate his 50th birthday at Roulette, October 25th, 8pm: Stridulations, music for strings, brass and percussion and more surprises.

Best known for his 20+ years of service in MM&W as the propulsive anchor of the celebrated well-traveled avant jazz-funk trio, Martin is equally an experimental intermedia artist of the highest calbre: visual artist, filmmaker, and sound artist. For this special birthday celebration concert, a variety of guests – beloved cohorts and luminaries of the downtown New York scene – will join Martin to perform, collaborate, and improvise with and without some of Martin’s experimental films.
