Upcoming Photography Show at Tugboat — Brooklynian

Upcoming Photography Show at Tugboat

I'm hanging a show of my recent black and white landscape photographs tomorrow. The show will run from November 7th through Thursday December 5th, as part of the PLG Arts Tugboat Local Artists series, which I curate. It will be at the Tugboat Tea Company, 546 Flatbush Avenue, between Lincoln Road and Beekman Place, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

All of the 16 X 20 prints in this show are being exhibited for the first time and are images I've made in the past year in Brooklyn and southern Vermont. As with most of my work they emphasize form and texture in details of the landscape that might otherwise be overlooked. I use traditional analog techniques for my landscape photography: mechanical cameras, mainly a Rolleiflex that has been my companion since my college days, medium format black and white film, and fiber-base silver gelatin photographic paper. I've printed them all in my own darkroom.

The reception for this show will be on Thursday, November 14th, from 6–9 PM. Please join me, if you can. If you can't make the reception, or just want a great cup of tea or coffee, Tugboat's hours are Mon–Fri, 7 am–7 pm and Sat–Sun. 8 am–6 pm.
