Shootings on Pacific and Nostrand — Brooklynian

Shootings on Pacific and Nostrand

Around 4 pm on Sunday, Dec. 1st there was a shooting at the corner of Pacific and Nostrand Ave. Then last night (Monday, 12/2), around 6:15pm, six shots rang out on Pacific near Nostrand (I live on Dean, and heard them from Pacific)...VERY loud. On Sunday, I did not hear them, but there was a huge police presence at the corner deli there, cops driving up Nostrand the wrong way...didn't seem that anyone was hit. This is exactly where the NYPD placed their "tower of fun" this summer, after two shootings nearby. It seems this area is in need of an increased police presence. Anyone have any more info? Thanks,

  • Spotcrime usually reports a shooting when someone is hit, and I don't see anything for that area.

    http://www.spotcrime.com/ny/brooklyn

Which leads me to believe that we may have had:

    people shooting into the air

    OR

people at shooting opponents but without hitting them or bystanders.

  • SOS Crown Heights said as of today it's been 53 days since a shooting. Maybe it only counts if someone is hit.

  • That is correct. This location is also outside their catchment area, so, even if someone was hit here, it would not count.

  • There was another shooting in the vicinity of Pacific and Nostrand today 3:12 PM - 20 Jan 2014Brooklyn: 596 Nostrand Ave. NYPD reporting male shot in the leg, transported by EMS. ESU requested for a evidence search. Active crime scene
