  • I'm not sure where to start with this. It is amazingly irresponsible for you to give away cats without charging an adoption fee. It is further so when you haven't bothered to have them fixed which presumably means they are not vetted or have any shots.

You can get them fully vetted for next to free with little effort if you want to or can be bothered.

This is the info for the ASPCA public van, with proof of assistance, such as welfare, Medicaid, Medicare, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), disability, food stamps, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or public housing qualify, the $125 fee is reduced to $5. The proof need NOT be yours or you can get someone you know to show their ID and say the cats are theirs either way they do not verify.

Also there is the Toby Project: http://tobyproject.org/spay-neuter/preparing-your-pet-be-spayed-or-neutered ALL MALE CATS ARE FREE!!!! Female cats are free with proof of public assistance. Rabies vaccines are $5!

Now here is what you need to know about why you should NEVER offer any pet for free.

Meet the horrifying truth about three groups of people: Bunchers, Dealers and Collectors. All will swear on the bible how they just want a kitty to love for their kids and say they are great christians and whatnot to convince you how awesome they are.

Bunchers will collect many cats together and then sell them to medical research facilities to be experimented on and tortured. Those that survive can be sold to pet food companies to make the very food you are now feeding your pets - animal by products.

Dealers will collect loads of animals together and then sell them on to the highest bidder that OFTEN is for dog fighting. They are treated horribly while waiting to be sold and many die before they even get a chance to be sold as they are often kept in filthy cages and barely fed. They are not selling them to live very long so their quality of life is of no concern for them,

Collectors are you crazy hoarder types. They believe that no one else is capable of caring for the cats but them and literally collect dozens and dozens of cats.

ALL THREE OF THESE NUTJOBS ARE AVOIDABLE - CHARGE AN ADOPTION FEE!!!

They will look elsewhere as there are always other desperate fools who can be tricked and conned. Don't be one of them! Charge no less than $25 per cat. That will keep out the worst of the worst.

You cannot screen someone you havent met in person via facebook or linked in b/c er people LIE! Ask for references, do NOT Accept family members of b/f or g/f's they do not count! Ask for proof they are allowed to have pets in their building, many rentors are NOT allowed pets and if they get caught with them they dump them at the kill factory the NYC ACC. Ask for a name of a vet they use and CALL THEM. I weeded out one collector that way!

YES THIS IS WORK! If you want your pets to live long safe lives you will make the effort.

  • Thanks Alana this needed to be posted. I just really wonder if it matters. I mean this person is willing to deliver knowing absolutely zip about where these cats are going.

These things always make me feel sick.

I hope they care enough to do better by these poor

darlings that are sadly losing their home and each other.
