RIP Alfred Siegel, Deputy Director of the Center for Court Innovation

Longtime readers may remember an epic saga, which culminated in a local man receiving court ordered community mental health treatment:http://www.brooklynian.com/forums/topic/tree-branch-breaker/page/37/In no small part, this outcome was due to the work of Alfred Siegel. He spent much of his life working toward creating mental health and drug treatment courts in NYC and across the nation, a career which culminated in the role of Deputy Director of the Center For Court Innovation.http://www.courtinnovation.org/Mr Siegel died of a heart attack last night. On behalf of those who have worked closely with him, and those who were affected by his work yet do not know his name because they were "merely" a client of a Drug Treatment or Mental Health Court, or a resident of a community which benefitted from such innovations: Thank You.
