There's an idea! Kind of like a body wash/shampoo all in one. I do like to shine in the morning! And at night... nothing draws the ladies like the smell of meat patty!
  • I know this thread has gone from coffee to farts but wouldn't it be funny if we all went to Muddy Waters one night and observed??? I would completely instigate an outburst from Ms. Thang.... I don't know... sounded like a good idea when I thought of it.....
  • I say we get everyone's dads to go in there and rip nasty meat spritzer farts simultaneously and then run.

    Mad hot.
  • oh my god, i want to puke, i want to laugh.... i don't know which to do first...

meat. a vile concept, with endless potential for amusement.

We should have a board outing to M.W.. The possibilities for hilarity are endless.

A visit form the dh.com board is like a kiss from the godfather.
  • That would be really hilarious--I never see that many people in there, and if like 12 or 15 of us showed up at once, it would be funny. I have to admit, as a non-coffee drinker, I've never been tempted to go in there just for the experience, but if we all did, I'd give it a try. Or would she not let me sit in there if I weren't drinking coffee?

When is it open? Could we do it before the proposed air hocket evening?
  • Air hockey is 8/9. We could use MW as a staging area and all meet up there before going to Brownstone Billiards if people are game.
I think it would be great.

I'm not going to be able to make air hockey tomorrow night, dammit. I thought it was next week... why didn't I get the memo?

Heads will roll, I tell you!

:? i thought that it was on the 9th?
  • My b-d.

    It is 8/9.

    :? :? :? :?
  • I think, for the record, that MW closes fairly early. Like 5:30 or 6:00.
  • Subject: Ms. Coffee

I think what we're dealing with here is an apathetic zealot (yes, the rarest all owner schizophrenics): the blank smile....the impassioned smile....the mother of all hair...the father of no hair....a lot of coffee.....the absence of coffee. It's truly fascinating; and personally, I think she should be embraced. As well, I think we should immediately submit a psychological study application to IPRA. Now that place makes a mean soy latte.
  • Thank God Im not the only person who has added Muddy Waters to their list of places not to buy from. That woman is so rude! also, whats up with the hours of service???

10A-10P - but they're open from 12P-6P or when ever they feel like closing.

I will walk a mile to Gorilla just out of spite.
  • Why walk that far when there's Heights Coffee or Prospect Perk. There're in your backyard!

    edited for correctitude
  • Correction it's pg 3 & 4
    MEAT SPRITZER!!

man, whoo, I almost forgot that gem.
  • I think that the "Mighty Meaty Wind" thread was originally split off from this thread.

i just moved here and had no idea that this woman was so contraversial. went by the other day, got some coffee and she was pretty nice i guess, but it was the first time i can ever remember that i threw an entire cup of coffee into the garbage because it tasted so bad. i thought it might be some exotic blend or something but then i realized it was just burnt to hell

MOD EDIT: Fixed your quote tags
  • Someone probably already mentioned this, and not that I'd go in there.. but, why aren't there any couches or places to rest the fanny in muddywaters anymore??? Thats just effin weird. No furniture now... Not understanding how that place is functioning. The woman that owns that place seriously sucks at life.
  • Perhaps they cleared everything out to make way for the speed-dating events they're now advertising in their front window.

(unless I read it completely incorrectly in passing)
  • I went into Muddy Waters last weekend and the place was like a time warp. There was a guy working there playing pretty good music and making sandwiches very meticulously. After waiting about 4 minutes the guy acknowledged my presence and I ordered a small coffee. He tried to pour some from the dispenser but it was all gone so instead of telling me it was out he decided to make it from the espresso machine... which turned out to be a disaster. I basically got hot water with a mild coffee flavor which I threw out shortly thereafter.
    This place is a disaster.

Well, at least they remain true to their name.
  • The location is excellent. You'd think if Muddy Waters had put in a real effort to brew a quality product—has it ever been good?—that they would draw some customers from across the street (Joyce). But like several others who have been in there have discovered, I too found the coffee to be undrinkable. It's like they're brewing watered-down Folgers. They just don't care.
