Does anyone have more info about this place? It's the one on Prospect between Vanderbilt and Carlton closer to Vanderbilt. It's covered in a big blue tarp and has been since I moved here 2 years ago.

I heard that the owners were doing renovations (it looks like it's missing the front of the top story) but things got out of hand and now they're trying to sell. Probably not a big market for a row house missing half it's face, but maybe for someone...

Sold recently.
Was owned by someone whose cousin was an Architect.
The story is that the GC (General Contractor) and the Architect were attempting to squeeze every dime out of this Banker who initially purchased the bldg.
There was terrible planning issues, for instance:
the staircase was moved to the opposite bearing wall. Though it would have probably been okay for a single family home, it would not work for a multiple-family. Walking across the front of the home (Which would mean elimanating the Parlor floor front windows) is an indication of the Architects poor ability to plan/ design.

All I know is, there's always a kid throwing a tennis ball against the boards, and it drives me nuts, and I don't even live particularly near there.

I know that kid. he's a good kid. What's the big deal? There's no one in the house without a face.

Because he doesn't stop when people are walking by and once almost spiked me in the head. I wasn't sure whether this was a sign of good aim or bad.

Probably bad aim. I'm sure you could just tell him in a stern adult tone that he should wait until people pass by.

Or I can tell his parents. Or you could tell him that you're gonna speak to his parents.
