NO STANDING parking sign on Van Brunt Street — Brooklynian

NO STANDING parking sign on Van Brunt Street

edited November -1 in Red Hook
Do you guys know anything about the new NO STANDING parking signs that just went up on Van Brunt Street between Dikeman and Wolcott?

It looks like we can't park on the whole block from Hope + Anchor all the way down to Baked.

I'm concerned that this means they'll be doing major construction or something.

Please post if you know what's going on. Thanks!

  • Subject: response to new Redhook parking signs

It seems to me that these new regulations really tighten parking ALOT during the day if you haven't noticed. It appears its more important for the incidental big truck to have clearance than for hundreds of cars to legally park there instead. The new regulations are too stringent and too tight . It really should be a "Do-Over"
  • Subject: traffic

They are "windows" to allow more visibility of/for pedestrians. They are part of the package that included the traffic light at sullivan. I'm all for any way to make Van Brunt a little less dangerous to cross. Now if we could add a little more enforcement of reckless truck drivers and a couple more lights we could all feel a little safer.
  • Think traffic and parking is bad now? Wait until Ikea opens their junk furniture store there!
