  • Banned for not guessing. Banned for posting about something SO 2 weeks ago...

Whaddaya think of them apples, shish?!
  • oh. so like you already have one Whyfi?
  • Went through 4 sets of batteries already.

So, Q, I suppose that you're going to ask if you can borrow it?
  • So we're past 1111. Next short-term goal: 1234. Unless you count the fibonacci 1123.

    MK next.

P.S. Don't count on more posts from me anytime soon, since I'm at work until 2am.
  • hmmm. :-k i wonder what it'll do with some Chemical Brothers on shuffle?
    Carnivore next...
  • um. how come no one is trying to answer my question? I'm all weepy.

and I demand that carnivore try to answer!
  • Here's a trick question: In the early '80s Sony's then-chairman used the length of his favorite classical piece as the measure for what? (Why Fi probably knows this one.)
  • so we coasted right past 1111 posts and no one really noticed, eh Carni? right on! it was starting to feel a little more like exercise and a little less like fun till the trivia thing, anyway.

and i tried, Alafairnadia, so no weeping, but ya gotta give an ignorant puppy like me a clue.

here's another movie question: in Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, all of Andie MacDowell's dialogue was overdubbed due to her heavy southern drawl. whose voice is it we hear in the film, MichaelKeys?
  • Not Mk.

OK, AFN. According to Cayce, jet lag occurs because the soul can't move as fast as the plane, so the delay until your soul catches up to you is what we experience as jet lag. I would have been able to look that up if RAH didn't still have my copy of Pattern Recognition!

    Right, Alfster?

Nipsey Russell provided the voice over for Andie McDowell. Him or that lunatic Glenn Close. They sound alike. I'm guessing Carnivore is up this early.
  • MichaelKeys wrote: Here's a trick question: In the early '80s Sony's then-chairman used the length of his favorite classical piece as the measure for what? (Why Fi probably knows this one.)
Indeed - the play time of a CD.

Which album had the longest stint on the billboard chart? Got this one, Q?
  • Thriller Pitu?
  • errrrrr, the Beatles Greatest Hits, the red one
the one that Nipsey Russell is on, while waiting for his jet lagged soul to catch up with his canned chicken
    =D>
    1234! 1234!

WhyFi, which Pulitzer Prize winner put out a Calypso album?
  • Nope, nope! Keep guessing!

    pitu - eh? NO idea...

    Idlewild?!
  • knowing WhyFi, it's probably Pink Floyd.
    Or Fleetwood Mac. (shudder)
    nah, I go with Floyd.
It pains me to type that!

Q! Which Pulitzer Prize winner put out a Calypso album?
  • pitu, I think highly of you, even though you live in the Slope, but if you EVER again insinuate that I would voluntarily turn a conversation towards Fleetwood Mac...

Well, you are part right - 'tis the Floyd that holds the record with Dark Side of the Moon. It spent 741 weeks on the chart (591 consecutive). If you include the Pop Charts, you're looking at 26+ consecutive years.
  • the Mighty Sparrow won a pulitzer prize? :-k
wow. he is talented, isn't he Whyfi!

    Right, Alfster?
hurrah! I was going to ask about the whole mirror world thing, which I always experience in london, but I like the jet lag theory better.

and that sucks about RAH and your book! demand it back!

    right pitu?
  • If we're going to get a bookish and nerdy - Gandalf is one of how many wizards that came to middle earth? Bonus points if you can name their 'colors.'

Alfy, got any Potter trivia up your sleeve?! edit - oh, and if you like Gibson, you should read Glasshouse by Charles Stross.
  • I'm not a fan but there are different eras to Fleetwood Mac. Believe it or not there's some good stuff from the early period. And what's the matter with the Slope, WF? Grrrrrrrrrrr.

Nipsey Russell should always be the answer, Idlewild.

Only US president who was a bachelor, Mamacita?
  • Buchanan Baby!

Here's one, who had the briefest presidency in history?

    Shishkabennie?
  • Although he *might* be deserving, The Mighty Sparrow does not have the Pulitzer. But the reference might help me get that damned Fleetwood Mac song out of my head.
who killed the Sparrow, nobody knows?! Sparrow Dead! Sparrow Dead!
WhyFi, it's you and Floyd that are locked together in my mind. It's funny that's the answer . . . so don't hunt me with with your vicious pit bull!
    And what's my prize?

Gandalf's colors are ochre and powder pink.

Which Pulitzer Prize winner put out a Calypso album? MK?

Hint for cable tv viewers: Said prizer winner has spent meaningful time with Dave Chappelle.
  • Wasn't McKinley the shortest, Mamacita?
  • Paul Mooney put out a calypso album, pitu?
  • Was it Al Gore, Mamacita?
  • (ding) Al Gore it is!

    here's the final Calypso/Pulitzer clue
    image

    Sweet Tea! GUESS!
  • Still stumped. Did anyone get the I3s right? You knew, Carny. Right?
  • Mamacita wrote: Here's one, who had the briefest presidency in history?
Tha's the guy that got deathly ill during his inauguration speech! Dunno his name... :?

pitu - dunno who she is, but purty!!! And NO - you didn't answer either part of my question correctly!!! :x

MK - what's wrong with the Slope...? Uh... nuthin'... You're up, by the way!

Man, you gotta stay on top of this thread or it gets tough to follow.
