they brought down the house! people were cheering like mad, standing ovations, the whole nine yards. they were thrilled and looked rather surprised at the reaction, and i was so happy for them. i've seen this troupe three times in three years, and they never fail to amaze me.

(personal backstory: i traveled spain, portugal, and morocco with my best friend in '96 and was mesmerized by the music and dance of flamenco. it's a love affair that hasn't wavered yet. passion! anger! yearning! sex! what's not to love, hubba hubba?)

so tonight it's off to empire-fulton ferry park for "Brooklyn Philharmonic: Baroque Meets Tango!": A combination of Vivaldi's Four Seasons with Four Seasons of Buenos Aires as scored by Astor Piazzolla (amazing, kick-ass, a personal favorite).
