  • Subject: Ital v Ital-Am

If you're looking for Italian-American food out of the 1950's, go to Aunt Suzie's. YUCK!!! Ever see the movie "Big Night"? Al Di La serves gorgeous real Italian food. And there's excellent food for vegetarians...especially if they'll tolerate a little anchovy in the dressing. The grilled chard stems are out of this world [and I'm fully aware of how weird that sounds.]

Everything I've had in Carroll Gardens is bad Italian-American, not good Italian. That is, in sit-down restaurants. You can get lovely fresh mozz and other supplies there.
I hear Two Toms makes a killer steak. No pun intended.

DiFara's pizza gets raves, but you have to get on the train for that one.
  • I am surprised at how few people in our neighborhood have tried La Villa on 5th AVE. I have recommended it to a number of my friends, all loved it. In addition, they have about 5 wood burning ovens that churn out the best pizza that I have had in the neighborhood and, if you eat in, free focacia. Also, they deliver.

Please note that I am in no way affiliated with La Villa.
  • Subject: two tom's

i had a two tom's experience. 1 LARGE party table of cops/firefighters taking up most of the room and air. and me and my two friends and another table. I felt like we were getting the stink-eye the whole time while we cut into our iceberg lettuce.

Or take the Q to Ave J for Di Fara.
YES! I was just gonna' say that and you beat me to it once again.

Would I look like a total heathen for saying that I like Tutta Pasta? Fine, I'm a heathen.

I love Tutta Pasta. Great Fresh pasta, I like the simple Pasta e Piselli. They also have the best lunch special around. Weekdays only.

I can't agree with you about Aunt Suzie's.
You'd have to have the taste buds of a swine to agree with their flavors.
Too much ornamentation in that place and, probably, the worst food.

I'm pretty sure that I don't have the taste buds of a swine. Why don't you log in and we can shit-talk back and forth about how subjective criticism of local area Italian-American eateries can really be.

Since you must be some sort of gastronomical expert why not dislcose where a jack-ass like yourself (with human tastebuds, presumably) would go for Italian?
  • Hey guest fuck-off.
And by the way I was generalizing, but you seem agitated with the truth.
I guess some else has called you a swine before.
    Once again, lets recap:
Anonymous guest was generalizing, Guest is defensive

    heh!...

    that would explain a lot...
  • With a name like horseycraze, I wouldn't be surprised why you'd frequent Aunt Suzie's for a pigs meal

With your writing ability, I'm not surprised that you're an unemployed flaming troll.
  • Guys take a deep breath, step away from the computers and realize that you are fighting over Italian restaurants. Yes, I've fought over ice cream trucks but that isn't the point here.
  • Well my daddy can beat up your daddy...
  • EXTRA, EXTRA, read all about it:
Horseycraze admits to having pig swine tastebuds
  • i'd say it was like watching a tennis match...but all the italian restaurant fighters are named guest. or ospite, as it appears in italian.

i still haven't found a restaurant to compete with lil frankie's in the village sad to say. but i'm a fiend for their gnocchi.
  • Just wait til the arena is built.
The Italian food chain restaurants will be popping right by courtside.
