Wow! This is the best fucking thread I've ever seen on this site. It is so ironic that cops are asking for empathy and using 9/11 as an excuse for it. Bottom line is that it is a choice that people make to be a cop. There is no fucking "badge" for that decision. Moreso, it is lame to say that they are the only "curtain" out there protecting us from society. If you leave this country, this entire idea, which is abuse of privilege, would be non-existent because in most places cops live where they work. Cops should be "citizens" of this city as well as law "enforcers." That is their role. The "privalege" to park where you want, when you want should then be extended to all city employees, yeah? The entire idea is ludicrous and impossible. In most cities around the world, an urban cop doesn't even own a car. I keep getting this feeling that these guys who "protect us" feel as if they are better than us in many ways and allow themselves the right to escape what citizens deal with every fucking day......a crowded subway and the shit that goes with it.

As far as the economics goes, again stop bitching. It is a fucking choice to join the force. There isn't a gun pointed to anyone's head to be a cop. Lay off all that hero shit, as many of them, certainly not all, are simply power hungry and know there is a system to milk. I keep on thinking of this "privilege" as an offshoot of what Bush, the hypocrite, does every fucking day. He looks us in the eye, knowing he is wrong, and still says he is right.
