Found Dog! Now reunited!!!
This morning we found a dog with no tags wandering the streets. We were worried that it would be hit by a car or get into other trouble, so we took the dog home. If you are missing your beloved pet, or have heard of a neighbor's lost dog please call me at 917 664 7582 and describe the dog so that we know it is yours.
Found: Monday March 19 at approximately 10 am.
p.s. we have a dog and the two are here at our apartment hanging out.

Subject: Lost Dog
We had a similar situation last weekend. We were a little reluctant to drop it off at Animal Care & Control due to the fact that they might euthanize the dog if no one claimed it or adopted it.
Eventually we found a cocker spaniel rescue service and made arrangements for them to pick up the dog from ACC. After dropping it off we found out that the dog had a microchip in it which means that ACC will keep it for 10 days before putting it up for adoption. You might want to see if this pup has one.
We posted information on petfinder.com as well as fidofinder.com. The Brooklyn Area Resource Center (BARC) in Williamsburg is a local no-kill shelter that you might want to contact.
The good folks at Kiki's were very helpful as they gave the dog a bath before we took it over to ACC and they didn't charge us for it.
A word of warning - the stray gave our dog a case of gardia, a parasite. -
great. thank you for the advice. we actually knew about the chip so we're taking her to our vet down the street to "read" the chip. wish us luck.

Good luck!
MOD NOTE:
I made your announcement Sticky so it will stay at the top of the thread for awhile. If you resolve the situation, drop me a pm if you can. -
We had a similar situation, too... over a year later, we're still tryin' to get rid o' Lucy...

Congratulations on your new family member!

If it's a little white hairy dog, his name is Shiloh and contact Ft. Greene Pups [email protected] He was lost a couple of weeks ago.

Where did you find the dog? Do you have any photos?
I just saw a new missing dog sign at the corner of Hall Street and Myrtle avenue.
It looked like a brownish white-ish terrier (I think - I'm not good at identifying dogs) -
no, this one is not the white terrier looking one. we'd been alerted to this one already. still looking for the owner though, and trying to be cautious about false claims. apparently there was a woman who stole a dog in the area and took the dog to a vet. to be put to sleep (it wasn't her dog!). some people are crazy.
